The Kleinfelder Group, Inc. (“Kleinfelder”), a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm, announced today that Jason C. Williams has joined Kleinfelder as National Aviation Leader. In this role, Williams will lead the growth and strategic direction of Kleinfelder’s aviation portfolio, leveraging over 30 years of comprehensive experience across the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), large-hub commercial airports, military installations, and international infrastructure consulting engagements.
Williams brings a proven track record of executive leadership, strategic capital planning, and complex infrastructure execution. Most recently, he served as Director of Operations at IEA Inc., where he led civil engineering and infrastructure operations for a 135-person multidisciplinary team while overseeing federal contracting strategy and multi-state market expansion.
Prior to his leadership role at IEA, Williams served as Lead Community Planner for the FAA’s Louisiana and New Mexico Airports District Office (ADO). In this position, he managed capital improvement programs and federally funded grants valued at over $300 million annually across 110 airports, while overseeing more than 80 airport layout plans, master plans, and airspace planning initiatives. His extensive background also includes over seven years in key management roles at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). At DFW, Williams led major aviation planning efforts supporting a $10 billion, 10-year capital improvement plan, directed airfield asset maintenance strategies to minimize operational downtime, initiated planning for the Northeast and Southwest End-Around Taxiway System, and coordinated with the FAA and U.S. Department of Transportation to secure a $180 million letter of intent for critical airfield infrastructure. His technical focus at DFW also spanned innovation and future mobility, including advanced air mobility (AAM) and electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL) airspace capacity studies in collaboration with FAA headquarters.
“Jason’s unique combination of experience as an airport owner/operator representative, FAA regulator and planner, and consultant brings immense value to our aviation clients,” said SVP and Transportation Market Leader Houman Makarechi. “His ability to translate large-hub operational best practices into scalable, practical solutions for airports of all sizes will be pivotal as we continue expanding our footprint and supporting the modernization of aviation infrastructure nationwide.”
“I am excited to join Kleinfelder at a time when airports across the country face critical needs for capital infrastructure renewal, capacity expansion, and modern technology integration,” said Williams. “I look forward to partnering with our talented technical teams to deliver tailored, forward-looking solutions that meet the evolving operational needs of airport stakeholders and local communities.”
Williams holds a Master of Business Administration, cum laude, with a specialization in strategic management & marketing from Villanova University, a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics magna cum laude, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and an Executive Certificate in Strategic Execution from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He is a certified FAA Air Traffic Controller and a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
