The A’ International Advanced Design and Design Research Awards recognize excellence in research-driven and experimental approaches to design. From ethnographic studies, surveys and interviews to observational research, case studies, prototypes, literature reviews and design experiments, the competition celebrates work that generates new knowledge, methods and possibilities for design practice. Entries are evaluated anonymously by an international jury of more than 300 experts, including design researchers, academics, industrial designers, engineers, innovation professionals, UX specialists and design scholars, ensuring recognition is based on research rigor, originality, methodology, relevance, experimentation, insight generation and contribution to design excellence.

Design Research Awards Timeline & Eligibility
Deadline for entries to A’ Advanced Design and Design Research Awards is on September 30, 2026. Results of the A’ Advanced Design and Design Research Awards will be announced on May 1, 2027. Professional-edition laureates of the A’ Advanced Design and Design Research Awards will be granted the highly coveted A’ Design Prize which contains a series of PR, marketing and publicity tools to celebrate the status of winning the Design Research Awards.
