SAO PAULO, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DP World has joined the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil (AmCham Brazil), as it expands its port and logistics operations across the country, including a BRL 1.6 billion investment in the Port of Santos and a growing network of logistics services in key Brazilian trade centers.
DP World has operated in Brazil for more than a decade, anchored by its container terminal at the Port of Santos and supported by a growing logistics network. The company operates six logistics offices in Santos, São Paulo, Campinas, Itajaí, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre, providing freight forwarding, contract logistics, and multimodal services across key trade and industrial centers.
At Santos, where DP World began operations in 2013, the company is investing BRL 1.6 billion to increase annual container handling capacity to 1.7 million TEUs by the end of 2026, with plans to further increase it to 2.1 million TEUs, strengthening one of Brazil’s most important gateways for international trade.
Together, DP World’s port and logistics operations provide customers with integrated services spanning inland transportation, freight forwarding, contract logistics, and access to global ocean networks.
Fabio Siccherino, CEO of DP World in Brazil, said: “Brazil is a strategic market for DP World, and joining AmCham gives us another platform to connect and engage with the companies that are driving trade and investment. As we expand our port and logistics capabilities, we want to build new partnerships, deepen our relationships with customers, and help more Brazilian businesses reach global markets.”
Connecting Brazil to Global Trade
AmCham Brazil is the largest American Chamber of Commerce outside the United States, bringing together more than 3,500 companies across 16 cities that collectively represent about 33% of Brazil’s GDP. The organization works to strengthen the business environment, connect companies and government, and promote trade and investment between Brazil and the United States.
Through its membership, DP World will engage with Brazilian and multinational companies across industries, share its perspectives on global trade and supply chains, and identify opportunities to support customers through its expanding network in Brazil.
The membership also builds on DP World’s engagement with AmCham across the Americas, including its 2024 entry into AmCham’s Northeast Chapter in Monterrey, Mexico.
With operations across 85 countries, approximately 110 million TEUs of port capacity and more than 300 freight forwarding offices worldwide, DP World connects its growing presence in Brazil to a global network of ports, logistics operations, and trade markets.
