Munchkin Appoints Kunal K. Thakkar as Chief Supply Chain Officer
“Kunal’s appointment represents an important investment in the operational excellence and capabilities we need for Munchkin’s next phase of growth,” said Steven B. Dunn, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WHY Brands. “His experience scaling global, omnichannel supply chains will help Munchkin bring greater innovation, speed to market, resilience, and customer service to everything we do, while strengthening the capabilities needed to scale our direct-to-consumer business across owned and third-party digital channels.”
Thakkar joins Munchkin with more than 20 years of global supply chain and operations leadership across consumer products, retail, e-commerce and logistics. Most recently, as Global Chief Executive Officer of SEAIR, he transformed the traditional freight forwarder into a technology-enabled, end-to-end supply chain platform. Previously, as Chief Supply Chain Officer of Thrasio, he oversaw a $100 million-plus supply chain budget across sourcing, warehousing, transportation and inventory, delivering millions in cost savings and reducing gross inventory by nearly half in 18 months. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Firstleaf, Walmart, Newegg and UPS.
As CSCO, Thakkar will lead Munchkin’s global Operations and Supply Chain, Compliance, Costing and Sourcing, Demand Planning and Analytics, Order Management, and Program Management functions. Thakker will report to Dunn.
“Munchkin has built an extraordinary legacy of innovation and consumer loyalty, and I’m excited to help build the supply chain that supports its next chapter of growth,” said Thakkar. “I look forward to partnering with teams across the organization to bring greater speed, resilience, and scale to how we serve our retail partners and the families who trust Munchkin every day.”
Munchkin champions its mission to “Empowering parents with innovative solutions that transform the chaos of early childhood into safe, calm & confident moments of connection,” and continues to prioritize its team members as innovative influencers through collaboration, integrity, and inspiration.
