Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), a leading wealth planning1 and workplace2 investment advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Tina Wilson as Chief Retirement Officer. Wilson will oversee the firm’s Workplace, Retirement Plan Services, and Employee Planning businesses.

For 40 years, EFE has worked to expand access to high-quality, personalized financial advice. And, for millions of Americans, the workplace is a critical launch pad for their financial journey. In this new role, Wilson will lead EFE’s enterprise retirement strategy, accelerating the connectivity and growth potential of the firm’s workplace retirement, advisory, and comprehensive financial planning services.

“Retirement has been at the heart of Edelman Financial Engines since the beginning, and the opportunity ahead is bigger than any one business or channel,” said Ralph Haberli, CEO and President of Edelman Financial Engines. “By bringing these capabilities together under Tina’s leadership, we are positioning Edelman Financial Engines to serve more workplace savers, innovate faster, and create lifelong advice relationships that extend well beyond retirement planning. This investment reflects both the strength of our retirement business today and our confidence in the opportunity ahead.”

Wilson brings more than 25 years of experience across the retirement, wealth management, and investment landscape. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Empower, where she led enterprise product strategy and innovation. She also served as CEO of Empower Advisory Group, the company’s registered investment adviser.

EFE also announced Kurt Fauerbach, Senior Vice President, Head of Workplace, will retire after 18 years with the firm. During his tenure, Fauerbach helped shape and advance EFE’s Workplace business into a leading provider of retirement advice and guidance, serving nearly 600 of the nation’s largest employers and more than 10 million retirement plan participants3. Fauerbach will serve in an advisory capacity to EFE through early 2027 to support a seamless transition.

“Kurt has made an enduring contribution to EFE and to the millions of people we have had the privilege to serve through the workplace,” said Haberli. “Under his leadership, we’ve strengthened our role as a strategic partner to plan sponsors — helping them navigate an increasingly complex retirement landscape and deliver better outcomes for their employees. He leaves behind a stronger business, a lasting legacy, and a foundation that will support our continued growth for years to come.”

The transition comes as EFE continues to invest in and expand its retirement capabilities. The firm recently launched an integrated retirement solution for small and mid-sized businesses and their employees, extending capabilities developed over decades serving large employers to a broader segment of the market. Leveraging its workplace scale, retirement plan expertise, and personalized financial planning capabilities, EFE is strengthening the connection between how people save for retirement at work and how they build long-term financial confidence.
