FOCUS Learning Acquires P&RO Solutions, Expanding Workforce Performance Capabilities
PR Newswire
MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 5, 2026
Company will adopt the FOCUS Performance brand as it expands from training and qualification into work planning and asset reliability
MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — FOCUS Learning Corporation, provider of the VISION and Qlarity training and qualification platforms for nuclear operators, utilities, and other regulated industrial organizations, today announced the acquisition of P&RO Solutions, a Glen Mills, Pennsylvania-based provider of work management and asset reliability software and services.
In connection with the acquisition, FOCUS will begin operating under the FOCUS Performance brand, reflecting a broader mission that now spans workforce training and qualification as well as the planning and execution of the work those qualifications support.
The acquisition closed on July 31, 2026. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Connecting workforce readiness with the work that needs to be performed
Operators in highly regulated industries must answer two closely related questions every day: Who is qualified to perform the work, and who is scheduled to do it?
Historically, training and qualification information and work planning have often lived in separate systems. That separation can make it harder for operators to identify qualification or readiness issues early enough to prevent scheduling conflicts and operational disruption.
By adding P&RO’s work management capabilities, FOCUS is expanding from helping customers establish and maintain workforce readiness to helping them apply that information more directly to daily planning and execution. Over time, the combination creates the opportunity to connect qualification information more closely with work planning and scheduling, helping customers identify workforce-readiness constraints earlier.
“Our customers have to answer two questions about the same person every day: Are they qualified to do the work, and are they scheduled to do it?” said Jay Steele, CEO of FOCUS Learning. “FOCUS has spent decades helping customers answer the first question. P&RO brings deep expertise in the second. Together, we have an opportunity to help customers connect workforce readiness more closely with daily work planning and execution.”
FOCUS Learning‘s VISION and Qlarity products are used by nuclear operators, utilities, and other regulated organizations to manage training programs, qualifications, learning content, and workforce readiness. Qlarity is also used by more than 100 electric utilities in support of NERC PER-005 compliance.
“FOCUS and P&RO share a deep understanding of the environments our customers operate in and the importance of getting mission-critical work right,” added [NAME], [TITLE] of P&RO Solutions. “Joining FOCUS gives us additional resources to invest in PaSTA and MoPaSTA while preserving the industry expertise and customer focus that have always defined P&RO. We are excited about what the combined organization can deliver for customers.”
P&RO Solutions develops PaSTA, a workweek management application designed around established industry practices for planning, scheduling, and executing work that works alongside enterprise systems including SAP, IBM Maximo, and Oracle Primavera. PaSTA helps planners manage backlog, build and maintain the workweek, coordinate the people and equipment required to complete it, and monitor schedule health. A companion mobile application extends those workflows into the field.
Alexander Mears, Managing Partner at The Brydon Group, commented on the strategic rationale for the acquisition: “FOCUS is building a differentiated platform around one of the most important challenges facing regulated operators: ensuring the right people are prepared and available to perform critical work. P&RO adds a highly complementary capability and deepens FOCUS’s ability to serve customers across the workforce-performance lifecycle. We are excited to continue investing behind the team, its products, and its customers.”
FOCUS Learning to adopt the FOCUS Performance brand
FOCUS has long defined its mission as empowering the world through workforce performance. The FOCUS Performance brand brings the company’s name more closely in line with that mission.
Learning remains foundational to the company’s expertise. Performance reflects the outcome FOCUS helps its customers achieve: a workforce that is prepared to perform safely, effectively, and on schedule.
The transition to the FOCUS Performance brand will occur in phases. Existing customer agreements, product relationships, and support arrangements will continue without interruption. The company’s legal entity will remain FOCUS Learning Corporation.
